ONE MORE DAY TO REGRET
is my post-fuerte santa muerte album, it has noisy beats and cheesy spanish samples, was supposed to be a memento mori, but I've been re-reading fantasy books from my teenage years, so it's also about necromants now, made for heatwaves, summer storms and the dying of the light, come listen (while you can)
1. A tribe is dancing around a fire, chanting and drumming. The night is dark and a storm rages on the horizon. Feet draw circles around the fire and the flames become green. Something pushes through the ground, from below. The death mage is summoned once again.
2. A sorcerer walks through the desert, through hell, with demons chasing him. No skin and nearly no muscle is left on him, pure bones grind against the rocks and sand. He reaches a solitary tree, hidden in a valley, and begins murmuring the words. The tree blooms and its flowers light up. The death mage casts a spell.
3. An old woman sits in the setting sun in the courtyard of her villa. She caresses herself and sings about a lover from her youth, about his green eyes, about how their gardens used to flourish and about how he simply couldn't stay for her. The death mage is remembered.
4. A young woman, a young death, dances wildly in the hall of the tavern in a seaside town. Her skin is dark, her hair is black and so are her eyes. Everybody stares at her, but none dares approaching. The band is afraid to stop playing. From upstairs, a young boy is also watching and he finds his purpose in life. The death mage is born.
5. As a war rages on nearby, no one is present in the remote village to observe its most beautiful summer in years. Only rocks and trees bear witness. The death mage is nowhere to be found as well, hidden in some cave. The death mage is gone and so is life.
6. A child-god goes mad from isolation, sowing ruin over the earth with his assaults on a self-perceived, self-inflicted cage. A wild-horned devil rises from the mud in an ever-fogged forest, his skin burned to ashes. A young death laughs vividly. The death mage is invoked.
7. The air is thick and the wind pulls it from the lungs. The waves of the ocean are black, and the acid-like water burns skin. A man kneels in it, letting them bathe him. The death mage returns home.
